Pink bathroom tiles

Real men CAN have pink bathrooms!

Bathroom tiles

We are getting bombarded with enquiries over pink tiles yet when it comes to making the final decision, men tend to influence their wives to refrain from choosing the loving colour.

And here I am wondering, what could hold them back?

Why is it that men wear pink shirts, ties and Ralph Lauren jumpers, yet when it comes to investing in pink bathrooms, they get cold feet?

Maybe if they knew that back in the days, pink was originally associated with boys because it’s closer to red, which is considered a more masculine colour?
Or that blue was originally associated with girls because it evokes the Virgin Mary?
This trend got flipped around the beginning of the 20th century and even then, it took until after World War II for this gender distinction to become entrenched.

Back in the 1930’ we experienced colourful bathroom trends with pink and green suites dominating family bathrooms, boasting colour and high energy.

Pink bathroom suites might be the thing of the past (unless you’re buying an old bungalow), yet I feel they could still look attractive in modern design and available technology but I am yet to see them on the market.

For the time being, tiling your bathroom in a beautiful shade of peony could really lift the space up and embrace that calming, loving spirit of your bathroom design.
You can turn the room into a more masculine feel by introducing black taps and valves, black finish shower panels and multiple accessories. It really works well and provides a grounding contrast.

Interesting fact: Toward the end of the 1925 novel The Great Gatsby, Jay showed up to lunch with his mistress and her husband in a pink suit. Buchanan used the suit’s hue not to discredit Gatsby’s masculinity or virility, but his intellectual bona fides.

So, boys, now that you know all this, would you consider a pink bathroom?
